BBB - PAY TO GET AN "A"
At Timeshare Trade Ins, we completely understand the concerns associated with the publicized ratings associated with the BBB. If a person does not understand the functions of the BBB, then the concern arises that we are not a credible company. The BBB is a company that makes money through the membership fees from businesses wishing to be accredited through their agency. I am not aware that they are an agency that is funded by our government, they are strictly a business that employees individuals to maintain their personification. Their executives can receive six figure incomes of up to $400,000 plus in salaries. I would have to ask where the monies become available to pay such exorbitant salaries. We as many other companies, have had problems with the BBB, whereas, they attempt to extort money from companies like ours to become an ACCREDITTED company in their list of approved businesses. Let me explain this point, when you are an ACCREDITTED company , the complaints that are filed with the BBB will be blocked for a longer period of time, as well as, many of those complaints are never published, having been resolved outside of the guidelines set forth for non-accredited businesses, therefore, protecting the companies that agree to the membership fees required by this agency. This allows the BBB to participate in deceptive and misleading practices. Being a not for profit organization, they have been protected from civil court suits, allowing them to manipulate their agenda.
If a company like Timeshare Trade Ins, does not wish to pay an exorbitant fee to become an accredited company associated with the BBB, the complaints filed with the BBB are automatically processed into their system to be viewed by any curious onlooker who invariably will not realize that first, there are two sides to each issue and secondly, the BBB is not aware of any contractual agreements between the two parties, which automatically should alert them to a possible tortuous interference with a business contract, therefore, leading to possible further legal action. Many times the complaints with our company have resulted from issues with a third party company and we are simply mentioned in their complaint, therefore, bringing our company into the mix of the complaint. The contract between our company and any individual addresses the responsibilities of each party. Many times we find that the individual either refuses to accept responsibility or purposely misleads our company and the third party company to the facts of their ownership. Thus leading us to wonder why there is no Consumer Bureau to report the deceptive practices of those consumers. This situation alone brings contractual discrepancies to the forefront of the complaints without the knowledge of the facts associated with the initiated contract. Over the years, we have bowed to the deceptive practices of the BBB, returned to the consumer any and all monies they have invested into their process and have opted to regain the loss of funds through the civil court systems.
The timeshare industry admittedly, seems to attract fraudulent individuals and companies that are designed to misrepresent the product and the facts of their day to day operations. This alone makes our company different. We are a small family owned business and we strive to bring a transparency to each process so that you, the client, can feel that you are not misled in any way. We have processed in excess of 12,000 properties, resulting in only 20-24 BBB complaints. In our defense, that would appear to be a very good ratio of satisfied customers to customers that had felt that their process was mishandled. We have become proactive with the issues concerning non-accredited companies and the allowance to publish complaints before the facts have been presented in those companies’ defense. We have initiated news related articles that can be viewed via our website and are presently initiating a internet blog to theorize the rising concerns of like minded business owners. Having initiated this recordation of their practices, we are now being denied a membership with our local BBB as an accredited company. This would simply be the easiest remedy to this situation, but being a constitutional law abiding citizen, we find that we are now being discriminated against for our views of their organization. It is our opinion that discrimination and extortion is a criminal offense, whether it is a business or personal level.
I am attaching a link to a video that you will find adheres to the facts that I have stated above. Also, I would encourage you to research large companies such as Wal-Mart, Target, Home Depot, and Wyndham Vacation Resorts, you will find that they have impeccable ratings with numerous complaints, whereas, they are accredited companies and adhere to the monetary requirements of the BBB. We feel that we are sacrificing our business ethics if we agree to participate in the extortion to be allowed a more positive rating. Whereas, it appears that the consumer is more misled if a membership fee allows the BBB to sugar coat a company’s true practices.
For many years, the BBB has skirted the issues that have been brought to light and have been blatantly ignored by the industry allowing this agency to further their agenda. Increasingly putting honest transparent businesses at risk. I anticipate that in the future, there will be businesses like ours that will step forward to promote the honest practices that we all wish to advocate. This year alone, their blatant practices have cause our company to loose $600,000 in revenue, thus forcing the layoff of six dedicated employees.
I think that you would agree that we each are human and mistakes can be made. It is only a mistake is I can assure you that we work diligently to process each agreement and yours will be no different. We offer excellent customer service for any issues that may arise. I hope that you will find comfort in this email and I anticipate that you will find our results will be very positive. We are truly people of integrity and want only for the consumer to be satisfied with the results we provide.
I encourage you to review the above links, whereas, you will see personally, the discrimination that applies to many businesses.
